....heliskiing and the start of adventure tourism...!
Today..bright and early....the Year 13 Geography students from John McGlashan listened to a presentation on Queenstown as a tourism destination. Using annotated maps they tracked the spatial and temporal changes in tourism over time. Divided into three periods the first tourists came in the Victorian era for to marvel at the great outdoors...then came SKIING in the 1950s and package tours....through to ADVENTURE tourism, heli skiing, bungy, jet boating, rafting...in the 1980s.
We hope you have gone away with some useful information for your Level 3 NCEA Geography course and wish you well with your examinations later in the year.
