Remarkables remarkable day discovering the rush!

Got all the marks out?
Today saw two Year 4 classes from Remarkables visit the museum and participate in the GOLD programme. Students headed down Buckingham street looking for buildings from the past and discovering where the miners did their shopping, banked their gold and parked (!) their horses - can you remember what that was called? The sun shone brightly as they tried their luck at panning, washing clothes using soap and a washboard and making butter! Students also explored the museum and everyone saw the man on the lavatory!
We hope you had a good time....tell us about it on this blog!

I think that going to the Mueseum was a great experience I enjoyed finding out about all the old buildings and what the minners would use them as.I also enjoyed gold panning and the learning the technique I was lucky enough to find 2 small but shiny peices.Next time I will hopefully find a bit more!
thank you very much for having us and I really enjoyed it!I didn't find any gold but it was fun trying to gold pan.I jumped when I saw the fake man on the toilet that said "go away can't you see i'm busy"
